Photo sharing websites are one of the best ways to add your photos, images and share them online. It helps you in keeping your images organized. It also minimizes a lot of technical stuff like the format, size etc. Photo sharing sites makes life a lot easier especially for beginners. They take care of all the technical stuff once you upload your images to their website. They also have amazingly user friendly image editors which can be used to edit your images and share online.

As bloggers there are several advantages that these photo sharing websites offer to us. A few advantages are

  1. Saves web space on your servers since most of the photo sharing websites offer unlimited storage and bandwidth
  2. Helps in building community and social presence around your images (if they are good and appealing)
  3. Helps in driving traffic to your blogs
  4. Online editors helps you to edit and personalize your images to suit our blogs
  5. Your images are safe and secure with them as you have complete control over the images and you can make them private or public. You can also block search engines from accessing your images. You can also protect your images with passwords as well

There are a few disadvantages of using them for blogging purpose as well.

  1. You need to play their rules and will not have complete freedom to do unique things with your images
  2. You don’t own your account. They can shut down your account whenever they want and the images you have added to their account is lost
  3. Adding these images from these websites slows down your blog. Many people argue on this, but I have tested this on few of my blogs and feel that it slows down your blog.
