They take care of all the technical stuff once you upload your images to their website. They also have amazingly user friendly image editors which can be used to edit your images and share online.
As bloggers there are several advantages that these photo sharing websites offer to us. A few advantages are
Saves web space on your servers since most of the photo sharing websites offer unlimited storage and bandwidth
Helps in building community and social presence around your images (if they are good and appealing)

Adding these images from these websites slows down your blog. Many people argue on this, but I have tested this on few of my blogs and feel that it slows down your blog.
Flickr and Photobucket are one of the largest photo sharing websites out there on the internet. They are trusted by many photographers, online entrepreneurs, bloggers and other users for storing and sharing their images online. I would recommend you to use them as well. But again go through the advantages and disadvantages and be sure how you are going to use them optimally.
